6-Year-Old Colorado Boy Suspended For Kissing Female Classmate

First grader Hunter Yelton kissed a girl, and he liked it! One thing he didn’t like, however, was getting suspended over it.

According to local news station KRDO 13, Hunter, who attends school in Canon City, Colorado, kissed a female classmate on the hand. According to Hunter’s mother, Jennifer Saunders, the two parties involved have a mutual crush (aww, how cute).
The school had a very different take, however. After the incident, the 6-year-old was suspended by school officials. Adding insult to injury, the school stated in official paperwork that they were accusing Hunter of “sexual harassment.”
Jennifer told KRDO, “I had the meeting with the principal, where she first said 'sexual harassment.' This is taking it to an extreme that doesn't need to be met with a 6-year-old. Now my son is asking questions — 'What is sex, Mommy?' That should not ever be said, sex. Not in a sentence with a 6-year-old."
School superintendent Robin Gooldy told ABC News that the school has reportedly met with Hunter’s parents and changed the harassment charge to “misconduct.” This still seems like a pretty severe punishment for someone who can’t even read yet. Hunter has since returned to school, and we bet this young Romeo will be keeping his smooches to himself for a while.
