Rivers State Police Backed Thugs Attack People At Pro-Amaechi Rivers Rally

Rivers State Police Command-backed thugs attacking people Sunday attending a Save Rivers Movement rally in Bori.
The rally was held to inaugurate the executives of the pan-Rivers group in Khana Local government area of Rivers State.
Instead thugs and hoodlums hired by the PDP, and backed by the Rivers State Police Command, caused a disruption.  
This is the second time after the police shot a senator with a rubber bullet in Port harcourt.
Carrying dangerous weapons and guns they entered the venue and started shooting sporadically.  
Then they began attacking journalist and seizing gadgets and personal belongings.  

The Channels TV crew were badly beaten, their bus vandalized, and their cameras seized.  
The men then attacked anyone in sight, and several people are reported to have been cut with machetes and have bullet wounds.
The Save Rivers Movement had written in advance to inform the police about the rally and request police protection.
The Rivers State Police Commissioner, Mbu Joseph Mbu,  is known to be PDP member.
On Saturday, the PDP, backed and supported by 300 policemen, forcefully entered the Onelga council Secretariat to hold a rally for the PDP.  Members of the APC and Governor Amaechi were attacked.
The PDP group, GDI, is holding another rally in Degema, Rivers state   with police protection.
The same police have said they will not grant permission or provide police protection for the Save Rivers Movement.
