‘12 Years a Slave’ actress Lupita Nyong'o has signed a contract to represent the cosmetics brand Lancôme, according to a report.
Fashion and beauty news website WWD said life is good for the Kenyan Oscar-winning actress and director these days.
After rising to international fame last year through her performance in Steve McQueen's historical drama, Nyong'o is making headlines in the beauty world with the announcement that she is the latest official Lancôme spokes model.
The French beauty brand's choice is hardly a surprising one, as the young woman has turned heads throughout awards season with her lovely silhouette, beautiful complexion and perfect makeup.
"I am truly honoured to join the Maison Lancôme, a brand with such a prestigious history and that I have always loved," said Nyong'o. "I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman's freedom to be herself."
The 31-year-old actress will pose for photographer Alexi Lubomirski in the brand's next campaign, scheduled for release this September.
As a Lancôme spokes model, Lupita Nyong'o joins an exclusive club of prestigious celebrities, including Julia Roberts, Penélope Cruz and Kate Winslet. Earlier this year, the actress posed as the face of Miu Miu's Spring-Summer 2014 collection in a campaign photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
