Forbes Woman Africa and MTN Business Come Together For First Leading Women Summit In Johannesburg, South Africa.
More than 120 leaders and influencers in business, politics, technology, media, philanthropy, fashion and entertainment will be participating in the first annual Leading Women Summit presented by MTN Business in association with Forbes Woman Africa, which will be held in Johannesburg on March 10, 2016. The invitation-only summit will bring together a multi-generational group of influential women to forge partnerships, find solutions, and take actions with the theme for this year titled: The Rise Of The Millennial.
“The focus of this year’s women’s summit is the rise and rise of Generation Y, also known as Millennials. This emerging generation of female entrepreneurs is redefining pathways to power in their businesses, communities and the social causes they champion,” said Methil Renuka, Editor of Forbes Woman Africa. “Most importantly, the summit will harness the intellect and influence of these leaders and connect them with well-established role models and mentors across generations so they share insights and build positive partnerships.”
Through a candid exchange of ideas and experiences, panel sessions and keynote speakers will explore the underlying theme of the female millennial. They are driven, early adopters, tech-savvy, co-creators, multi-tasking ambitious individuals, born between 1980 and 2000, changing the face of industries as the first of this generation enter their early 30s.
"MTN Business is delighted to be part of the Summit as it will allow us to have a thought-provoking discourse on how the new generation of women is shaping and influencing industries, as well as how societies function, work and play,” said Mandisa Ntloko, Head of Marketing at MTN Business South Africa. “It is critical that we harness this positive energy and crystallise it into a catalyst that will help spawn the creation of smart and tech-savvy societies that will enable us to better address socio-economic challenges and tackle under-development."
Discussions will examine how this generation will impact our world, as well as the challenges confronting those who will employ and manage this generation.
