Dean Furman will captain Bafana Bafana for the first time in their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan on Saturday.
Midfielder Furman, 26, was named captain late today, after Bafana completed their final training session ahead of the game, where a victory for South Africa will qualify them for the Nations Cup, to be held in Equatorial Guinea from January 17 to February 8.
A new captain and goalkeeper had to be chosen by Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba after the tragic murder of Senzo Meyiwa on October 26. Darren Keet will be the man between the poles for the game against Sudan.
Bafana XI: Keet, Mathoho, Coetzee, Khumalo, Ngcongca, Manyisa, Furman, Jali, Serero; Rantie, Ndulula
