Bonang Matheba' s beau, Nigerian artist D'Banj, created a Twitter storm when he took to social media to wish his ex-girlfriend, Adama Idimi, a happy birthday, calling her "the queen of his heart".
D'Banj and Metro FM DJ and television presenter Matheba finally confirmed rumours that they were dating with a passionate kiss at the MTV Africa Music Awards last month.
The message that D'Banj posted to Instagram read in full: "Happy birthday to this very beautiful and extraordinary woman.
"She's one in a life time ... my best friend, my closest and best ally, my beautiful princess, the queen of my heart. @presido have a blast my dear. I love you very much babe. Mwah!"
This has left many speculating that Queen B might have been sidelined.
Despite the debate trending on Twitter for most of the day, neither D'Banj nor Matheba responded.
