OVERVIEW On International Day of the Girl, the Global Goals campaign with a range of partners is launching the #FreedomForGirls campaign.
The centre piece of the campaign is a new film, by MJ Delaney, produced in
partnership with UNICEF and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation featuring Freedom by Beyoncé.
On 11th October we are asking people to
• Share the film and what #FreedomForGirls means to you
• Take action at globalgoals.org/dayofthegirl with a range of partner organisations
Key Messages
• Every day girls around the world are fighting for their freedom. This International Day of the Girl stand with them and take action.
• In 2015 when leaders signed up to the Global Goals they made a promise – to empower all girls. There has been progress but we need to keep up the pressure.
• We need action on some of the biggest challenges girls face like access to quality education and healthcare, violence against girls and child marriage
• If we work together we can achieve the Global Goals and make sure every girl grows up empowered and able to fulfil her dreams.
