“Nigeria’s military says it has agreed a truce with Islamist militant group Boko Haram and the schoolgirls it has abducted will be released…” CLICK HERE
FIRST, OF COURSE I am delighted if those girls are coming home….I hope it is ALL of them. It is so cruel what has happened to them. Since April, there have been multiple reports they were raped, sold etc.
But what is perplexing to me is this: just yesterday afternoon I interviewed a Nigerian man (Christian) whose house was barged into at 11pm one night in November 2012 by Boko Haram. When he refused to renounce his faith and praise Allah, he was shot in the head and left (they thought he was dead.)
The shooting was done in front of his wife and 6 year old son.
Because he survived the shooting, and it became known, Boko Haram changed their slaughter methods and started beheading instead of shooting and putting the heads on the victims’ chests and leaving it for all to see. The guest showed me a video of Boko Haram lining up men and beheading one after to another (of course we won’t show that tonight.
So now I read of a deal with Boko Haram. A deal? I had hoped for their total destruction. Perhaps the plan is first to get the girls and then second, annihilate Boko Haram.
