MOTIVATION LETTER
I have discovered that life is a little more complicated. Sometimes the path we embark on, is not always the one we earlier set out to choose. Sometimes, we are pushed or pulled in certain directions and we have to react to our environment.
My path to success has been filled with bumps, potholes, detours and roadblocks. The signs often read “yield” and “do not enter”. The path has not always been clear, but I’ve kept my eyes opened, focused on the road ahead, and the experience has made all the difference.
During my first year in high school, I have always believed that one day I will be a great man, change the world for good and make the world a Global village. I have also proven myself to be an above average young man. The past years as an undergraduate, I earned good grades in my courses. Although it took me a bit longer to complete my undergraduate education, I consider it to be one of my greatest successes. I struggled through it and I gave up a great deal of my life for it. I believe that my struggle, perseverance, and triumph through my undergraduate years, qualify me as an excellent candidate.
When I was growing up whenever the phone would ring, my late father would say “the doctor is in” I believe that one of my strengths lies in the way I communicate and deal with children, and life generally. I think that we must become active listeners in order to understand each other. During my National Youth Service Corps with the Federal Ministry of Finance, I worked with the information technology specialist in order to do my job effectively. I worked with the national youth service corps body and as fate would have it, I was elected president of an educative community development service called Mass Literacy with the motto “Each one Teach one” for a year in Abuja Nigeria. I led 725 members and made a good impact in the area of Adult Education.
I speak English language and have very good communication skills. As such, I am a team player who is goal oriented and works with no supervision. I maintain a good working relationship with my friends and colleagues. I believe that the power to empathize or the ability to put yourself in some one else’s place begins with an open mind. When I say that we must become active listeners in order to understand one another, I mean to say that there are subtle movements in our speech, certain words that we use, certain utterances that are not directed towards us, certain circumstances unrevealed to us. We must endeavor to hear all of them. I believe that this skill will help me greatly as a candidate.
In 2007, August 22nd to be precise. In the early hours of 8am, I called my father on the phone asking him to help me with some amount of money, he told me to manage the little I have on me saying he his critically ill and as such admitted in the hospital that as he talks to me he his being admitted. That I should manage the little I have for the mean time. Only for me to receive a call some minutes later saying he just passed away due to anaemic heart failure being the secondary cause and septicaemia the primary cause. I felt too bad and helpless because I knew the world will be a challenge to me and at that moment I wasn’t ready for it. This experience has taught me that even if a subject is miles away from the reach of your contemplation, you can learn much from research and from the knowledge and experience of others.
Succinctly, as I offer myself as a candidate to you, I bring to the table years of work experience and selfless service which include steady and continue promotions, an unrelenting pursuit for knowledge, a compassion for children, jobs, environment, culture and people, and a believe that anything is possible if we can actively imagine it into existence. Throughout my adult life, I have never lost my path and I hope that you allow me to continue this path with you.
