The Federal Reserve of the United States of America on the 8th of October 2013 released a new one hundred dollar ($100) bill out to the public. The $100 bills are commonly referred to as Benjaminsas the note has the face of past President of America, Benjamin Franklin.
The new $100 bill took a decade to come up with 10 years and despite multiple failures, its finally complete. The new look is an attempt to stay one step ahead of counterfeiters, as the $100 bill is the most commonly counterfeited note outside the America and revamp its global positioning.
According to the Federal Reserve, more than half of $100 notes in circulation are overseas, ranking them at the top of the nation’s exports.
Two new features include:
(1) A 3-D blue strip with images that appear to move when the note is tilted.
2) An image of a copper inkwell containing a holographic bell whose color changes when tilted.
So when next you’re at a bureau de change, fret not at the new notes you’ll be given, its not a fake, its the new hundred dollar bill.
