Tukur Expresses Shock Over Faction’s Defection to APC

Oyinlola opts out, insists he is party’s national secretary
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed shock over the defection of the five aggrieved governors and some members of the party to the All Progressive Council (APC).

But the suspended national secretary, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who was at the meeting Tuesday morning has opted out of joining the APC, insisting that he is still the national secretary of PDP.
The Chairman said the aggrieved five governors and members of the faction known as the New PDP, went too far by defecting from a ruling party into the opposition camp, more so at a time the doors of negotiations and dialogue were kept wide open by President Jonathan and the party for all.
Tukur, currently in China on the invitation of the government of the Peoples Republic of China said he was in constant touch with the presidency and party leaders on the development.
