At least 40 bodies and plane debris were found by the search and rescue teams looking for AirAsia flight QZ 8501, which had left from Surabaya, Indonesia, to Singapore and went missing on Sunday.
Reports had earlier said that Indonesian officials were 95 percent sure that the debris found in the Java Sea belonged to the plane, which is now believed to have crashed in the sea. The missing flight had lost contact with the control room during bad weather conditions enroute. More pics after cut..............

Indonesian President Joko Widodo is on his way to Surabaya to meet the families of those who were on the plane, BBC reported.

Meanwhile, AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes, also announced on Twitter that he will visit Surabaya. "My heart is filled with sadness for all the families involved in QZ 8501. On behalf of AirAsia my condolences," Fernandes said in a post on Twitter, adding: "Whatever we can do at Airasia we will be doing."

Relatives of those on board the plane have been waiting at Juanda International Airport, Surabaya, awaiting news from rescuers. 
Meanwhile, Indonesian search teams reportedly recovered bodies and luggage off the coast of Borneo island on Tuesday.
