PHOTOS: Swaziland Reed Dance August 2015

The annual Swaziland Reed Dance overshadowed by the death of over 38 maidens in an accident was well attended and covered by major media. About 90,000 young women and girls  registered to take part in the ceremony which concluded on Monday (31 August 2015) when danced half-naked in front of King Mswati III, who is sub-Saharan Africa's last absolute monarch.

The women and girls are reportedly virgins and form a regiment known as Imbali. More pics after cut.
