7 Health Problems Improved By Sleep

What if the cure for what ails you was as simple as going to sleep?

We spend a lot of time talking about how dangerous it is to skimp on that good quality shut-eye. Sometimes we ignore the flip side of that equation: Sleep can work wonders.

No, it won't cure cancer or save you from a heart attack (although it might help). But getting enough sleep may be just what you need to turn the corner when it comes to a number of health concerns. Check out a few problems sleep can improve below, then tell us why you make sleep a top priority in the comments.

More Lagos schools where pupils sit on bare floors unearthed

The World Bank as the largest external financier of education in the developed world found a reason to partner with the Lagos State Government to develop education to the tune of $90m, an initiative called the Lagos Eko Project.

The body seems to recognise the fact that as the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria –the most populous black nation in the world – education in the state needs all the attention it can get.

But if the state of the furniture in public secondary schools in the state is anything to go by, this needed attention is lacking.

Saheed Balogun and Estranged Wife Fathia Balogun In Court Over Name Wahala.

Saheed and Fathia Balogun have called it quit long before now. But Saheed isn’t finding it funny that Fathia still bears his name-Balogun. Saheed last year threatened that Fathia should stop using his name, but that fell on the actress’ deaf ears. In an interview shortly after Saheed asked her to stop using his name, Fathia said, “I laugh, my name is Fathia Balogun and it’s going to remain Balogun; nobody can ever change that and nobody can stop me from answering that name.”

The case is now in court.

ABC's "Lady Gaga and the Muppets Holiday Spectacular" featured a few of the pop star's famous friends -- Elton John and Kristen Bell -- and several sketches that fell flat.

"Touch me in the dark / Put your hands all over my body parts," Lady Gaga demanded in the family special that earned the post-Charlie Brown Christmas slot on ABC this year. But there's getting felt up, and then there's feeling up actual felt, which brings us to her co-stars, the Muppets. Alas, there was little suggestion of a love triangle between Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Miss Gaga, interspecies love apparently being too taboo for the usually daring pop provocateur.

Children learn sexism at school – so that's where we should begin to fight it

High-profile cases in Rochdale and recent reports into gangs suggest that the sort of girls who are harrassed and abused are weak and friendless, girls whose chaotic homes lives leave them vulnerable. Yet, while law-abiding parents are reading these stories as if they are missives from Mars, harassment and sexism has become an everyday reality for their daughters.
