Cape Town’s rising producer and DJ, MRB as well as PE’s Micayla Colborne, better known by her stage name, MicaylaJean have teamed up to present what one may best describe as an anthem for radio stations in the mother city.

From all the submissions that came through towards the end of 2016 since the launch of TurnUp Music, the music team has managed to pick up the banging single, “Adore Me” reviewing it as one of the hottest house tracks that definitely deserve to get more attention and be lent an ear by all house music lovers in the continent.

As weird and magical as it may sound judging from the great production on the song, DJ MRB and Micayla have never physically met. As it is said that music brings people together, the two rising artists discovered each other on Facebook  and virtually worked on “Adore Me” a year ago and had it recognized by Darkmello record label owner, Darryl Loxton who helped them put out the song.

Being chosen as the artist of the month on TurnUp Music, DJ MRB is ecstatic about the news. “I discovered TurnUp Music on Facebook and it is personally a great feeling to know that you are getting heard by someone,” he says. In terms of the current state of music in South Africa, he believes that it isn’t so great for most producers, especially like him, that it’s more for DJs than anyone else. “I am one, however some don’t have access to equipment and studios, many even wish for sponsorships just to buy proper equipment because from a producer’s perspective, much of the time our computers and laptops limit us from producing really good music. The industry should invest in their artists and producers that are pushing and trying,” he adds.
