Is that a white horse in the waves? Photographer captures amazing image as Dorset coast is battered by storm surge

As Britain endures its worst series of winter storms in two decades, an astonishing photograph was captured on the South Coast.

Unusual sight: The uncanny shape of a large white horse jumping over the Cobb Wall at Lyme Regis in Dorset was captured by Richard Austin on Friday

He told MailOnline: ‘It went onto my Facebook page and I had three or four people who said “have you seen the white horse jumping over the wall?”.
‘Then I saw it immediately. The beginning of the structure looks like a lion’s head and as it’s elongated it becomes a horse.’
He added that five years ago he captured a wave coming over the Cobb Wall that resembled Neptune, the Roman god of freshwater and the sea.
Mr Austin, who lives in Dorset and has been a photographer for 30 years, said the photo had gone viral on Twitter and been ‘retweeted everywhere'.
Coastal areas - particularly in the South - are most at risk of flooding as they cope with a mixture of unusually high tides and another Atlantic storm today.
The Environment Agency has issued 73 flood warnings in England and Wales urging people to take action, while a further 218 areas are on flood alert.
The Met Office has issued yellow warnings of ice and rain, predicting river and surface flooding as well as travel disruption mainly in Wales and the South.
