Cape Town – Lesego Motsepe, who played Letti in TV soap Isidingo, died on Monday, according to a statement released by Motsepe’s family via Oresego Holdings.

According Oresego’s Twitter account, Lesego was found dead by her brother this morning at 11:00 and paramedics confirmed that she died of natural causes at about 13:00.

Lesego, 39, who played Letti in popular SABC3 soap Isidingo from 1998 to 2008, revealed that she was HIV positive on World Aids Day in 2011. She admitted at the time that she had been living with the virus for almost 13 years.

Motsepe stated that the reason for her confession was to make a difference in the lives of others after she suffered rejection and resentment after those close to her became aware of her status.

"The virus lives in my blood. For 13 years I had known, and I wanted to use the opportunity God gave me to be able to be a mentor to those who will be going through the same struggles I have gone through," she said.
