Will Game of Thrones Have a Season 5?

Even though we’ve just learned whenGame of ThronesSeason 4 is going to premiere, we’re already wondering about the prospect ofSeason 5. After all, we don’t ever want this show to end — at least not until it's made its way through the whole epic A Song of Ice and Fire story.
So, will there be a Season 5 of Game of Thrones? Thankfully, all signs point to yes. The show is extremely popular, so popular that with each new season we see it break its own piracy records. The show has also been given a major vote of confidence from HBO president Michael Lombardo, who in July said, “As far as I’m concerned, [Game of Thrones] can go on as long as there are stories to tell.”
If that's not enough to make you feel confident, we’re already learning casting news about the possible fifth season, including reports that Michiel Huisman will be promoted to a series regular in Season 5.
So, when should we expect confirmation that a fifth season is on the way? Well, if history tells us anything, it’s that HBO loves to renew a show for a future season right before its newest season premieres, like they just did with Girls. So knowing that, we hope to receive word of a fifth season forGoT some time around the end of March or beginning of April of this year.
Of course, we say, “why wait?” — announce it now!
