The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers on Thursday condemned the alleged killing of some registration officers in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by Chief Eze Chuwuemeka, the Media and Public Affairs Officer of the party in Port Harcourt.
"Some of the registration officers and innocent people of Rivers, who turned out to be registered by the APC, were attacked by thugs to destablize the exercise.
"Our registration units in Tombia, old Bakana and Woji ward 6 were attacked.
"The Chairman, Degema Local Government Supervisory Committee for the registration exercise and former Chairman, Rivers Civil Service Commission, Mr Ben Orugbani, escaped death when his house was shattered with bullets," he alleged.
He advised registration officers and members not to be intimidated by the attacks, and called on the police to ensure security in the registration centres.
