Eight-year-old Given Sibanyoni had dreamt of becoming a Metro Police Officer when he grew up, but died of kidney cancer.

“He was happy to have been a part of the Reach For A Dream experience. Even in the days leading to his death he’d talk about that day and how he wished he could see some of the officers again," his mother Lindiwe Ntuli told the Pretoria News.

“Many officers are shocked by his passing because they met him and he changed their lives. He was an inspiration,”  Metro Police spokesman Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said
Now the City of Tshwane has announced it will honour him at his funeral this weekend.
In November, the city with Reach for a Dream hosted Sibanyoni at a parade inspection with the metro chief as an honorary cop for a day.
