The EFF Walk Out Of Parliament After Malema's Representation

EFF leader Julius Malema made representation on behalf of all charged 20 MPs and has called on the Powers and Privileges Committee to summon speaker Baleka Mbete.
Malema has argued that Mbete is conflicted as she is the speaker of Parliament and the ANC chairperson.
He said that Mbete must appear before the committee to answer why she lied by saying that she did not call the police when she is on record asking “aphi amaphoyisa”.

EFFs Floyd Shivambu said that they did not just walk out of the committee but have 'completely withdrew' from it.
Malema has also said that the committee members are conflicted as they are hired by the ANC and cannot disagree with the party chairperson Mbete as this will put their jobs on the line.

The committee is probing the conduct of the EFF on August 21 2014 to see if they disrupted the house when calling for President Jacob Zuma to pay back the money spent on his Nkandla home.
Malema said that it is not clear why only 20 of the 25 EFF MPs were charged. He said that it not clear how the committee came to this decision.
